Bye Bye Birthday Month ....

This month I turned 27. Fraught with parties, a 'snow day', spinning until I almost got sick, one dangerous game of spoons, Italian dinner in an underground cave, Christian Bale on IMAX, a new President, and about six occasions that required Crumb cupcakes (if you haven't tried them, I feel sorry for your souls) it was a fantastic birthday month. 20/20 hindsight has been good to us here.

Birthday month 2009 is up there as one of the top 3, "grown-up" time wise. My best friend informs me that real grown-ups never use the word 'grown-up' but she's 25 and what does she know, anyway? My horoscope in the New Year was good so we've got that to look forward to. New loves, new clients and new clothes seem to be on a perfectly visible horizon, so that's exciting too. I wave my handkerchief at the party as it runs back into the winter woods.

I wonder what birthday-month 2010 will bring! Raise your glass, loves. Here's to another good year!
Alright! I rub my hands together, slap myself in the face and finally, finally GET BACK TO WORK!

Woot!

No Place Like Home

This week at job-job I've been working on a new film for the kiddies. We're focusing on Homes. Unfortunately I have learned little this week. I was actually kind of up to speed on the available options out on the market. My editor accidentally misspelled this on my planner. Instead my schedule read 'Holmes'. I'm still nursing my disappointment at not making a flick focusing on mystery, intrigue, cocaine and a certain "dear fellow". However, there were some cozy drawings involved. Here's a sneak peek at my favorites.

Sometimes homes are made out of stone:

Sometimes homes are made out of straw.

Sometimes homes have only one room:

And some homes have lots of rooms:

Sometimes homes are on wheels:

Sometimes they are on stilts:

Sometimes they are on the water!

We also touched on communities. You know the drill, location, location, location.

Colorstrology!!

Hi birdies,
You must simply go here:
For my birthday last night I recieved many fabulous gifts all shiny and purtty and perfect. The night was young even if I wasn't and the fun ran deeper than the wine. I loved every minute, but thought that the most sharable granule was a gift given to me by the oh so talented and soon to be oh so famous, Ashley Bryant. I thought I'd share it with you. Ashley owns the colorstrology book, which is a pantone guide to your life! My pantone is 'light mahogany" and my entire gift was color coordinated and fleshed out to match perfectly. I thought it was genius. Everyone at my partay was nuts about finding their birthday color! It was freaky how true each synopsis was. It made for a lot of laughs and maybe even some new interior design choices. I couldn't help but share. Hopefully, it will bring you some giggles.
Thanks a million times over to all the friends who stopped by all night for birthday fun. I swear sometimes my adult life is so much more fun than my kid life could ever hope to be. Here's to a new year and a new age. I must say, so far twenty-seven is shaping up nicely.

A Shot to My Heart

Guess who's amped on Valentine's Dayyyyyy?!?
Ok let's be honest, it's crazy far away. In love time it's like a majillion years from now. I like those little punched cards and I'm a fan of shaped candies that let people know how you feel about them. I'm also a strong endorser of lengthy make-out sessions. Regardless of all the social implications, I am amped on these new designs for
Amber Ink. I'm really excited about their gooey-ness. I totally ♥ them.

Which one's your favorite? I'm like the color combo in the middle the most. Thanks for the input. XOXOX and Hugs and Kisses and lots of sticky lovey doveiness (all things I'm a fan of, even on February 14th).

For Wes:

Sometimes my favorites happen fast, on the fly and in msn messenger's paint mode.

Resolve 2009

This is my ode to the marshmallows I had instead of for dinner. This illustration happened before a divine dessert of two additional marshmallows (i feel as long as I'm resolving and confessing I might as well be completely honest, for posterity's sake).
Happy Friday!
