The Tip of the Iceberg

After rather impressive pestering from some of you I've scanned the first drawings on the top of my Draw-A-Thon pile. Go ahead and whet your whistle. These are all impossibly fast gesture drawings from the quick draw room. All of these were done at lightening speed:














Sadly, this year 'quick draw' somehow meant 'as long as I can hold this pose, maybe twenty seconds maybe forty, who knows?" I was disapointed but still came away with some fun stuff. I'll be here all week, folks.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Alright, ladies and gents, the time is upon us! Sharpen those pencils, bust out the medium and break out the cold press. The 21st Annual Pratt Draw-A-Thon will commence whether or not you're ready for it. So, you'd just better be ready. Woot!

This week the topic is 'legendary'. I'm at a loss as to how this word could be used to illustrate anything or anyone other than our National treasure, that timeless classic beauty, our only living legend...

Clammy

I just got back from my vacation to Princeton. The hour and a half train ride, to and from, allowed for a lot of sketching. I mostly doodled, but I'll be working many of them into new surface designs. Here are my two favorite pages. Take a peak:

It was about as great a trip as one could get. I did a lot of running and dancing in big wide open spaces. I went to my favorite bakery in the planet, that's saying a lot considering I live next door to one of Brooklyn's best patisserie. I bought some new bits of genius at J.Crew and the Princeton Record Exchange. I also somehow managed to eat a good half pound of Thomas Sweet chocolates. Ooh...but the Melt-aways are just too good!
